The sad thing about our history is that Chief Mofedi (referred to as Chief Molapo in other archives) introduced Mohlakala to Moshoeshoe as his descendant to his throne. The records don’t state if Chief Molapo intruduced Mohlakala after disappearances of his siblings. What is equally strange is that Mokopoi ran away from Mohlakala after he killed Makotoko.
Mokopoi then sought refuge from Moshoeshoe. The same Moshoeshoe accepted chieftancy of Mohlakala, knowing very well that Mohlakala tried to kill all his brothers for chieftancy. It is noted that when Kholoane ran away and seek refuge with the Swazis, Mohlakala burnt all his farms and captured all his cattle. After staying for some time with the Swazis, Kholoane tried to seek refuge at Shaka but Shaka didn’t want to interfere in family disputes of Chief Mofedi Molapo. Kholoane returned to Moshoeshoe and was given land south of Maseru District.
Chief Molapo had 4 sons namely:
– Mohlakala > son -Belo > grandson-Nokochona current Chief Nochocho of Leribe District in Lesotho>
– Kholoane
– Makopoi
– Makotoko
[Kholoane and Makopoi families are mainly in south of Johannesburg, Free State and Lesotho]
Mbimbi s are from Mlambo clan. Mbimbi is son of Gwagwa. Mbimbi had four sons. 1. Phokela, 2.Monki 3. Cwaka 4. Gxwali
In Phokela house I heard about Sidlo the leading son.
I. Monki or Silo. In the first main house kwaMaRadebe. The 1 son is Phetsho, 2. Son Rhatyana 3. Gromani
UPhetsho’s 1. UBangithanga whose son was Mkhuthuka who mother was Nozakade Mskhambula whose mother was princess Noma nyala who was the daughter of princess of King Mdutyana was Bhaca king of all Bhaca nation.
The second wife of Monki(Silo) was Makhambula who had 2 sons. 1. Nokhanku 2. Manyawu
3 wife of Monki was Nam Xesibe who had one Son, Mmangwana who had also oneSon, Khwenkwe.
Rhatyana had many sons
Gromani had one son, Xhalisile who had many. Also UPhetsho had many sons in main house off first wife MaJuta I don’t know all of them
Cwaka the young brother of Monki from same Mother, uManqukhwe. Cwaka had sons but I only know uPomela.

UMlambo who is father of amaCutama was from the king Mjoli of lamaWushe. He was called Mlambo because in the small house the king did not have a son. And his wife died without giving a king a son except a girl. And the king asked his daughter to move to the main house. But the daughter refused and asked the king to take another wife because the man does not expire. He is like the river that flows day & night(Akathsathse umfati. Ateke ngoba inzonza ayigugi injengoMlambo ogeleta ubusuku emini. When that happened. The king name his Son Mambo because his daughter said that he should take another wife because man does not expire.

Thando Ka Zolisa! Zakade requested a grandson from his Ancestors and he wanted him to be named Thando. His intention was to have him stay with him so that he looks after his herd of cattle, goats and sheep, and he wanted him to be the person who would love his Clan People and to go across Africa looking for his Roots and People when old. Indeed his dream was granted, at age 6 Thando was taken by Zakade to stay with him and looked after the herd. Currently, Thando has managed to crisscross South Africa to find his People (Mtebele, Ndudane, Vili, Ngilana, Nomandla, Ncwane, Makhoba, Zungu, Phephu and many more) and Roots that are in Emahlabathini KZN.

ZUNGU HISTORY:

3. Malandela had 2 Sons, Qwabe and Zulu Ku Ndlunkulu u Nozinja
4. They stationed at hill of Kwa Hlophekhulu, being led by Ncwane KaMhlehlo (uMhlehlo’s Son), KaSengwayo, KaNyamakayishi, KaBaphephezi o Gwabini
5. Makhoba and Zungu were the Twin Sons of Ncwane Ka Mhlehlo Ka Sengwayo Ka Nyamakayishi Ka Gwabini
6. The first twin to see the Sun was Makhoba and Zungu the latter
7. After the Women who helped the Mother to give Birth to Makhoba, shouted to say ‘Ngibambeni Ukhona Ose Zungwini’ and indeed there’s another Child coming and he’s named ‘ZUNGU’, that’s how the name Zungu came
8. During those times, twins were treated as the curse in Zulu Culture, one of them ‘wayaye ayokwendiswa/if yintombi ligodukiswe
9. Ncwane refused that one of his Twins to be killed as their culture enforces
10. When Twins grew up, they ate Amasi from their hands and Makhoba would finish in a moment and Zungu would take a very long time ending up throwing Amasi away
11. Makhobas fast eating was assumed that He would eat from the poor without mercy, but Zungu’s stance was aligned to taking care of the People
12. They ruled from Mfokozi omnyama to Mfolozi omhlophe
13. Ncwane died and left Zungu who was young as the Chief and Makhoba didn’t contest the decision
14. Makhoba went to build at KwaNtabankulu Hill midway between white and black Umfolozi River up to Imbekamuzi Streams
15. Two clans were created after this, Makhoba and Zungu
16. During the reign of Manzini, He(???) reconciled Makhoba and Zungu
17. Manzini had good relations with King Shaka and Manzini gave Shaka his Amabutho to be under Shaka, and Shaka gave Manzini many cows in return
18. Tyana led after His Father, Zungu died
19. Magedeza went to build at Mpaphala with his house
20. Magedeza gave birth to Madlebe
21. Dingane went to take Madlebe to lead Dube nation and he also took Mahubulo to go assist Madlebe and ended up killed by Mpande. Reason for that was because Dube was a close ally to Shaka. Dude nation, led by Nzwakele and name changed to’KwaMadlebe’
22. Madlebe gave birth to Lokothwayo who had 3 Mthethwa Wives, and had Zanya (Inkosana), Mahlambulukana (Khohlo) and Phesheya (Iqadi)
23. Zanya didn’t give birth to the Heir, but gave birth to Girls only,
24. Before he died, he left Mahlambulukana in his position and there was a lot of noise for that because there was Phesheya who’s the Son of Iqadi
25. Phesheya ended up taking over Kingship as the rightful Heir to the throne
26. Phasheni Ka Zungu Inci ended up leaving Emahlabathini when Shaka sent his army to go attack Amampondo Ka Gambushe, they defeated Amampondo Ka Gambushe and they took over his land, some stayed there and ended up not coming back to Emahlabathini as they scattered all over EC, KZN South Coast and Harding.
27. All these People were led by *Deyi Ka Deyana Ka Phasheni*.
28. That’s how the Gwabini people came to the EC, all of them were called Amamfengu here and they only discovered recently that they are pure Zulus, though their majority still believe in the latter. It’s work in progress kwa baseMbo.

40. Other Zungu warriors were Mbudli and Phefeni who fought in the Hlophekhulu battle that was started by Prince Shingane when he was fighting with Amambhuku.
