Sereto is a Sesotho word that means “praise poem”. It comes from the verb go reta, which means “to praise” or “to glorify”. 

Sereto can also refer to the importance of something in people’s lives. For example, Sereto sa 5: Sebobolane discusses how something can help people, comfort those who are crying, and build homes for people to live in with joy.
