  1. Mduduzi

My name is Mduduzi and it’s got history!

So my parents always prayed for three kids, they had my two elder brothers, couple of years down the line my parents tried again and they were expecting again and at the time my mother over the age of 31, she then gave birth to the third boy who was named “Phelelani” which means “Your’ll are complete”. Sadly he passed away two days after birth. My parents suffered with the loss for over a year and half. No intimacy apparently, and when they finally did the deed again, they came to a decision that my mom would close her womb because she couldn’t go down the that route again and was afraid history may repeat itself because she’s grown more overtime and what not, anyway they went to consult with the Dr. The Dr said and quote “I’m sorry, I cannot take the risk of closing your womb as of now, because you’re already expecting and you’re almost passed your first trimester.” Above all odds, 6 months down the line my mother gave birth to a healthy young man through a C-section. She then passed out as she was drugged, and when she woke up the whole ward applauded her and shouted “Congratulations Mama kaMduduzi”
Which is a name the hospital staff suggested to my father because they knew what my family went through! My dad loved it and when he asked mom what she thought about it, she broke into tears and she loved it and ran with it. So that’s how I was named Mduduzi (Mdu – for short) which means Comforter/Peace Keeper.
