Victim of political violence in the lead-up to South Africa’s first democratic elections. On 20 March 1994, her house was burnt down by IFP supporters in Sonkombo, Ndwedwe, KwaZulu, near Durban. Her name is recorded in the archives of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), representing the many lives lost during the turbulent transition to democracy.

She and her family survived the attack, their story preserved in the historical record of apartheid-era human rights abuses.
