The Mampa clan are originally from Swaziland they were known as Mamba, there were the best songomas and traditional healers till some member of the clan used dark magic and they were forced to move to the west.
When they got the bapedi tribe noticing the new language and culture they now pronounced their surname as Mampa to fit in.
When they arrived they were recognized for their traditional healing gift and ability to communicate with snakes. They where given a peace of land and recognition as the kings songomas. Their main role was to protect the kings kingdom and over look the initiation school.
They planted ancestors tree known as sefagafaga which when praised a big snake comes to light as their spirit animal.
