Before construction of the Hendrik Vervoed tunnel in 1961,there was path that passes the area through a gorge. People will be traversing either from the North or South. People will be travelling from Musina,Zimbambwe towards Makhado and Bulugwane. The villagers there will stop and search the travellers and ask them where they are coming from and where they are going. They will insist that you must talk. It is said that if you do not respond positively, that is where you meet you death. They will kill you and throw you down the gorge.
